Al Mazunah Free Trade Zone is located in Dhofar region in the south of Oman close to the Yemeni border. The economic free zone is an important pillar in the trade with Yemen. The Kuwaiti Golden Hala Company - a subsidiary of Kuwait's Al-Fanar - develops the Al Mazunah Free Trade Zone infrastructure. Construction of the first phase of the three-million-square-meter free trade zone is already in progress since June 2010.

Golden Hala Company constructs the road network, Free Trade Zone office and administrative buildings together with power and water utilities and drainage, sewage services. Al Mazunah Free Trade Zone will be completed with car parks, clinics, restaurants, warehouses and showrooms and commercial centers. Golden Hala Company also operates the lease of the Al Mazunah Free Trade Zone.

The core business of Al Mazunah Free Trade Zone is to facilitates trade and storage of vehicles, automotive spares, fruits and vegetables, livestock, fresh and frozen meat, machinery and equipment, and other merchandise.
Among these industries there are investment opportunities in light industries, woodworking and carpentry plants, foodstuff processing units, readymade garments manufacturing, plastics conversion, and maintenance workshops of all kinds. Service sector investment prospects are in transport and distribution, warehousing and logistics, catering, and documentation services.

- US-based company Octal Petrochemicals with a polymer products manufacturing facility exporting PET-Film via the Port of Salalah.
- Salalah Methanol Company operated by Oman Oil Co already started production of methanol using liquefied natural gas supplied by Oman Oil.
- Sapphire marine - Manufactures powerboats for law enforcement and military use. For the civil market Sapphire Marine makes luxury power boats.
- Oswal Caustic Soda
- Dunes Oman - Setup to produce automotive castings, an activity of Brakes India Limited of the TVS group.

Dunes Oman owned by Brakes India operates a foundry inside the zone, capable of producing 17,500 tonnes of ductile iron and grey iron castings annually, for the automotive industry.
Another investor in Salalah Free Trade Zone is Dofar Nutraceuticals, targeting the market for food supplements and energy drinks.
The Salalah Free Trade Zone has a second location in the Adhan area, close to the Salalah Hilton. Developments on this site include warehousing units and leased offices.
Sohar Free Trade zone in the North of Oman is located on a 4500ha plot of land near the Port of Sohar. Sohar is the 2nd city of Oman - located on an hour drive from the Hatta border with the UAE.
Sohar Free Trade zone currently under development is a operated by Sohar Industrial Development Company. The current Free Trade Zone investors are the Government of Oman, the Port of Rotterdam in The Netherlands and SKIL Infrastructure in India.

The Al Duqm Free Trade Zone is currently under development and is planned on 12 million square meters of land located within a huge plot of 203 million square meters - designated to be a a major industrial hub in Oman - Al Wusta region. Al Duqm is located on the east coast of Oman 400 Km above Salalah and 450 Km below Muscat.

The Al Duqm Free Trade Zone will be located near the future Al Duqm International Airport and a crude export terminal with a refinery, a port and a dry dock. The development also includes commercial, residential and tourism opportunities.
In June 2009, Jurong International Consulting Company was awarded the master plan contract.and assists in the study of industrial and economic activities within the Duqm industrial hub.
